Replaced the roof on a post-war (WWII) single-story bungalow in Eagle Point, OR. We upgraded it with a continuous ridge vent to improve attic ventilation. Ridge and soffit vents are not either-or. They work together — soffits bring cooler air in, ridge vents release hot air out. That balanced airflow reduces heat buildup and helps extend roof life. In Southern Oregon, proper ventilation matters.
